The Altcoin Rises

O n May 11 2020, the crypto world experienced the phenomena knows as Bitcoin halving . For those who are still a little looney-toons regarding this phenomena, here's the lowdown . Moral of the story is that, as the Bitcoin supply decreased and it's 21 million market cap slowly approached, it was widely accepted that the low supply and high demand will increase the price of the cryptocurrency back to its previous highs. Basic business right? Wrong! Source: Equity Trust Company BTC prices actually fell and after briefly holding steady, are only just rising above the 10000 USD range. Surprise eh? Well, we are not done yet. Because while the most valuable crypto coin wasn't showing it's expected gains, some other cryptocurrencies shot to outer space. There was no SpaceX rocket nor a Tesla Roadster involved. These "altcoins" bumped up in their market value thanks to the entire underlying system of cryptocurrency: investor speculation.  But what exactly are these &q

Will There Be A Shakeup In The 2019 Formula 1 Order ?

The 2018 Formula One season ended with the delightful  ( though not for Nico Hulkenberg ) Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton yet again powered his Mercedes car past the chequered flag at the floodlit Yas Marina Circuit. It was a poetic end to a season where Hamilton established his dominance, winning his 5th Title and devastating Ferrari fans for yet another season.                           However this year has seen several rejigs in the drivers, with Fernando Alonso announcing his retirement, and Daniel Ricciardo moving to Renault ( after an ironically fraught season with a Renault powered car where he had to abandon races several times). Ferrari and Sauber are performing a swap- with Charles Leclerc heading for the prancing horse and Kimi Raikkonen joining the team who first brought him into Formula 1. Carlos Sainz Jr. joins Mclaren with Pierre Gasly taking Ricciardo's seat at Red Bull. Among other switches Robert Kubicka made his return to the motorsport, rea

How Neymar Can be The Messi-ah In Paris

As much as most people dislike or even hate Neymar they are willing to begrudgingly accept that after Messi and Ronaldo say their Adios! and Ciao! to the footballing world, Neymar is the next king. Sure Modric was awarded the player of the year, but everybody knows that this was one hell of a year for the Croat. Whether he can replicate the kind of match-winning contributions next year seems highly unlikely. Mbappe too had an amazing year. It's not every time you see a 19-year-old lift the World Cup, a trophy both Ronaldo and Messi have failed to get their grubby hands on. He is the most exciting teenager. Griezmann, you say? As Sergio Ramos said, not a chance.  So Neymar is the only player whose levels consistently match or are just below the 2 GOAT's of current football. At Barcelona, he was a game-changing player, which is something very hard to achieve considering Catalans have a roster of great players and one man starting with the letter M. Remember the time he s

Why Wildfires are Worse than Facebook and What to Do When In One

R emember the time when Facebook was caught, pants down, divulging and spreading user's personal data? There was a huge backslash but more importantly, when the company was questioned, there were more memes produced than concrete explanations. Nevertheless, it was an invasion of people's lives and data. Wildfires are the same. Only deadlier and they are probably not started by a fellow named Zuckerberg.  While Zuckerberg mishandled data, the recent Camp Fire in Northern California destroyed not just data but homes, offices, the occasional ice cream cart or playground among others. Most importantly the death toll has risen to a staggering 71 and that is not including 1,011 more people still unaccounted for. And let's not forget the Woolsey Fire in southern California. Yes, you read that right. There are 2 fires burning in the state of California. Talk about a double whammy. We do pray for their safety. The Week's Top Ten

1.  Another Hurricane. Another tragedy. 18 people were claimed by Michael, as the Hurricane ravaged the Florida Panhandle region with desperate people also resorting to looting.  The toll is unfortunately expected to rise as many people are still unaccounted for, with heavily waterlogged regions like Panama City having lost most if not all communication channels. Many of the nearby region's farmland has been shredded by the disaster. This hurricane is one of many who have been devastating the US as well the Pacific islands and are no doubt due to 'Global Warming' fueling its way across the world. In other disasters, Bali was rocked by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake, leaving a reported 3 dead. The quake struck just a few hours after many of South East Asia's world leaders arrived for an IMF summit. RIP. 2. Google to shut down Google + Well, not many people use Google + anymore ( even Google says that 90 % of users log in for an average of only 5 seconds) but due

The Week's Top Ten

1. Another Week...Another environmental disaster Indonesia was hit by a recent double whammy of a 7.5 magnitude earthquake and its resulting Tsunami. Greatly affecting Sulawesi, Palu region of Indonesia the disaster has shredded the city to ruins and around 832 people are confirmed dead. The death could rise to over 1000 (although we are extensively praying it won't) as search and rescue teams desperately search for any survivors. Like the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the region's supplies have been hit and many have taken to looting for any form of food.  With around 17000 people rendered homeless and an estimated 2.4 million people affected by the Earthquake X Tsunami,  aid has been slow to reach the worst affected areas as roads and the airport are damaged. RIP. ( P.S. If you want to donate to the Indonesian people you can go  here , or just google and send it through any other site, or send to ( working on some kinks) us and we'll send it to them 100%) 2. EA rel

Why bad SUVs are still selling faster than Twinkies

Article sourced from the  phaster.com It's quite funny when you realize that Maserati's best selling model in their history is their Levante SUV. Maserati, a company traditionally associated with building fast super sports cars made their SUV and et voila...it sold like crazy. SUVs have come a long way to become a must-have commodity in some markets. They have gone from off-roading farm helpers or militaristic ambitions to being gargantuan sized hoggers practically visible on every curb, road sidewalk. For all you know Tesla could be launching one into space right now.  Companies like Lamborghini with their URUS, Bentley with their Bentayga are new "off-roaders" for the wannabe market because their "customers want it". Bugatti is planning to make one, and so is Ferrari. Literally, most supercar makers are planning an SUV. But why are they so bloody famous now?  Read the article from the 'phaster' below: " Why SUVs Suck and
